Joy was a stray at an area Animal Control facility!  Can’t imagine why someone wasn’t looking high and low for her … she is just a great girl.  She was given a different name, but somehow ‘Joy’ just seemed to fit her better … so Joy she is.

This sweet girl is so much fun to be around.  She’s playful, sweet, snuggly, loveable … and some days she even listens well.  She’s a very smart girl and learns quickly.  She has a little shar-pei stubborn streak but she really does care whether her people are happy or not ... until she sees a cat ... or a squirrel ... or a deer ... anything that feels she must chase and eliminate.  She’s good with her foster siblings … especially loves playing with a puppy that looks like her little doppleganger!  She’s pretty even-tempered but she could definitely hold her ground if somebody else started something.  An experienced dog person and some obedience classes will do wonders to polish up this diamond-in-the-ruff!

If you think Joy might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Joy picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
